After all this time, Warren Woods Tower finally has a proper mascot suit. This new, sleeker and more colorful update to our mascot, who has been rechristened Titus through student voting, will hopefully be an integral part of hyping up the masses during sporting events and spirit sanctions.
“Ms. Sanders had discussed [the prospect of a new mascot] with the introduction of the Blue Crew” Mr. Vernango said on the new mascot. Mr. Vernango was a major part in the acquiring of the new costume. “We had wanted to bring spirit back to the games”
The process of the getting the new costume took involvement from students and staff. “Students from the Renaissance Club helped to identify a design, and then we got companies to draw concepts” Mr. Vernango said. “the athletics staff then looked at the drawings to give feedback, giving corrections where needed”. Mr Vernago went on to mention that a company known BAM! Was chosen to construct the final design.
Beyond school Spirit, the mascot serves another purpose. “In college, being a mascot is considered an actual sport.” Mr. Vernango said. “By getting students involved with the mascot (I.E wearing the costume), we hope to get possible college opportunities and scholarships for students.” All those interested in taking up the suit of Titus, see Mr. Vernango, and be ready to bring the spirit.
