For spring break, 13 students from Mrs. Martin’s French classes set off to France. Each student had the chance to explore France in different ways, staying with French families for the first 5 days and touring the rest of the time. From seeing castles to eating exotic foods, not only was this a learning experience for these students, but also a trip they will never forget.
Where they went:
- Versailles (Palace)
- Chartres (Cathedral)
- Orleans (City)
- Paris (City)
- Le Louvre (Museum)
- Musee Rodin (Museum)
- Musee d’Orsay (Museum that was originally a railroad station)
- Eiffel Tower (Monument)
- Place d’Etoile (Large road junction)
- L’arc de Triomphe (Arc de Triomphe)
- Cimetiere du pere Lachaise (Cemetery)
- Catacombs (Human-made underground passageways)
- Cathedrale du Notre Dame (Cathedral)
“After studying several sculptures from the Louvre, I finally got to see them in real life and discover other French artists,” John Drabik ’12.
“My favorite part of the trip was the family stay. You experience the French culture and are never in your comfort zone. I think anyone who has the chance to go to France should, because it’s an experience you will never forget!” Jacob Price ’12.
“Climbing the Eiffel Tower at night was unforgettable,” Jenna Brewer ’13.
“My favorite part was seeing Paris from l’arc de Triomphe and climbing the Eiffel Tower,” Mitchell Bonga ’15.
