On Tuesday, December 10th at 11:00 a.m., Warren Woods Tower Forensic Science classes were able to view a live autopsy with a medical examiner. This year alone 45 students viewed the autopsy. Students who viewed it had to figure out the cause of death.

“It’s great to be able to have students learn about their bodies and what drugs can do to your lungs, heart and brain,” Mrs. Jennings, Forensics teacher, said.

4th hour Forensic Science class students who attended all said they didn’t enjoy watching a human being dissected but it was a great learning experience to learn what can and can’t hurt their body. “I learned how to remove organs and what happens to your brain and lungs from smoking,” Rebecca Castillo ’14 said.

“The point of the autopsy was to value life and not to use drugs because of the harmful effects it has on the inside of your body and brain,” said Jennings.

There is another autopsy viewing planned in the spring for next semester  Forensic Science students.
