Kyle Angeleri ’16 has been bowling for about 8 years and almost 4 years for the WWT bowling team. The new season officially starts November 16th and Kyle is preparing, “I put in at least 4-6 hours per week. When the season starts, practicing and games will boost that up to about 12 hours of bowling per week. Weekend tournaments may put it up close to 16 hours” Kyle shares.

This young man has enough love for the game for his whole team, “I enjoyed the game whenever I would play when I was younger. Especially the sound of the ball hitting the pins, there’s no better sound!” Kyle says. He is really excited to try and beat his best game of 232 this year and someday bowl a perfect 300! With his determination, it is possible.

Not many people recognize bowling, but they do not understand the amount of preparation a game takes. “Before each game I mentally prepare myself. I put all my focus on each of my shots and if I mess up, I shake it off, step up for my next shot and do better. As captain of the team last season, you always want to get your team in a good mindset too. I ice my arm, stretch my arms and shoulders and get myself ready mentally. Warm ups are critical, find your shot for the moment. For as the game goes on, you have to adjust…a lot” Kyle exclaims.

As a captain, Kyle is ready to help lead his team this year, “Win another division title for the school. At the JV level, we did it last year for the first over all division title for Towers bowling program. We plan to do it again this season at a varsity level. Work hard to get past regionals and qualify for states,” Kyle says determined.

If you’re looking for something fun and competitive to do Kyle encourages you to try out for this sport he loves so much, “I love this game with all my heart and to anyone hesitant about playing, don’t be worried. No experience required! The coaches will make you a great bowler like myself and others!” Kyle says.
