This is the time of year where scary movies are all the rage. Going out with your friends to see a movie about a haunting or a possessed doll is the “it” thing. If you were considering Ouija to be that movie, change your plans and tell that thought to exit left. Ouija, as everyone knows, is a movie about an Ouija board. I’ll try not to spoil the story too much for those willing to see it, but this is my experience.
It was a tad bit hard to watch. The characters had no development and the acting seemed to be forced. The plot had moments that made you go “Really?” and the movie came off as comedic sometimes. It was hard for me to stay awake. The movie wasn’t all bad, however. I’ll give it praise on the suspense and the choice of music.
“The music played a big role in building up the tension making it scarier,” Semira Sabanovic ’15 said. There are others who indeed enjoyed the movie. Semira enjoyed the movie because she related to it due to past experiences with an Ouija board.
“I would recommend it to people because tis the season to be frightened and it’s a good scare!” Medina Memisevic ’15 said. She enjoyed the movie. “It was actually scary. I’ve experimented with an Ouija board before, so knowing that stuff could happen was frightening to me!” Medina said.
If you like haunted boards you can take your chances with this movie, but don’t expect any real storyline or non-2-dimensional characters.
