Mark your calendars on January 19th for American Pie night when the National Honor Society (NHS) hosts a fundraising event. In an effort to raise money for the club that gives back to not only Warren Woods Tower, but the community, NHS will be taking donations from American Pie. “The proceeds go towards the NHS scholarship; we give a $1,000 scholarship every year and we have to raise the money that goes into it,” Ms. Wrinkle, NHS advisor, states.
In order to make a contribution to the club, all one has to do is place your receipt in the tub at the front of the restaurant. From there American Pie will donate the cost of your meal towards NHS. “This is the first time since I’ve been the NHS advisor that we’ve gone to American Pie. However, last year we went through Buffalo Wild Wings and raised $95 which was really good. We’re really hoping to raise that much or even more through American Pie,” Ms. Wrinkle adds.
“Students should come to American Pie night because it’s a fun way to support NHS and hang out with some friends,” Fatima Alim ‘16 comments, “by supporting NHS, they are in return supporting the community.”
Some students, such as Beth Virden, are already marking their calendars for the event. “I’d definitely go to help out the club and socialize with friends, a lot of people go there too. It’s a great deal for unlimited pizza,” Beth Virden ‘18 says.
American Pie night will be hosted on Tuesday, January 19th from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. The restaurant is located on the corner of 12 mile and Hoover.
