As the second semester gets closer, it’s time to refelct on your performance first semester:
- Were you pleased with your performance in the classroom?
- Did you get the grades you know you’re capable of?
- Were you too lazy to get much done?
It’s important to know what did (or didn’t) work well for you first semester, so that you know how to work during the second semester. If you didn’t do so well on tests first semester, a good option would be to study more second semester. If your grades are right where you want them, it’s important to keep up with your good habits and keep your grades up.
A new semester brings you an opportunity to have a fresh start. Don’t be discouraged if the first half of the year didn’t go so well; starting January 27th, you could become a whole new student. It’s that time of the year when it’s cold and everyone is feeling lazy, but it’s important not to lose your motivation; just a few more months and summer is here!
Seniors– it’s especially important for you to keep your grades up. Your time in high school may be coming to an end, but blowing off your school work isn’t the best option. Colleges, whether you’ve already been accepted to them or not, will look at your second semester grades and see if you’re still working hard. Colleges want students that will work diligently throughout the entire school year. It’s also beneficial to you to work even harder second semester, in order to prepare you for college in the fall (or whenever you decide to go!).
Keep in mind, students, that with the new semester comes new opportunites. Find a routine that works best for you, and keep working hard!
