Mr. Graves is one of WWT’s new English teachers and has been teaching here for just under 1 year. He was hired last year in the beginning of the 2020 school year to take on some extra classes for the English department.
His favorite thing about teaching at Tower is the students. He says “They’re all very friendly and honest. They are all so different and comfortable in who they are.”
His favorite grades to teach are the 9th graders “because they’re the most interested in his new ideas”, and the 11th graders “because of their skill with English and class discussion”.
He decided to become a teacher because “it’s a way for him to be creative and share his passion for writing, literature, and thinking deeply”; He likes connecting with his students.
Some Fun Facts About Him:
1) He has 3 children: a sophomore, an 8th grader, and a 5th grader
2) He started at an Art’s School in college’
3) He’s a big University of Michigan fan
His favorite memory from high school was hanging out with his core, group of friends. He was also involved with sports, Spanish club, and quiz bowl.
One piece of advice he’d give to students?
“Don’t worry about what people think about you. Don’t be afraid to speak up. Be confident in who you are and you will find your tribe. Every day you get on Earth is a gift- make it count.”
