While there are many of us here at Woods-Tower who are involved in a ton of extracurricular activities, no one quite tops Lawrence Jhons ’13, who many of us know and love. Lawrence, who is loved by pretty much whoever he meets, always has a lot on his plate, but he never seems to bite off more than he can chew.

Having just Lawrence’s work load may be enough for an average person, as he is one of the few students from Tower who goes to Butcher due to the outstanding skills he has in both math and science. Imagine having to go home to write an ESSAY for your MATH CLASS. Yuck. However, he also involves himself in a ton of clubs, as well as sports every season!

Lawrence is one of the only ones daring enough at WWT to take on two sports at once during the fall season. During the fall he does both cross country and soccer. Currently he is in basketball, and during the spring he can be found doing track. On top of that, Lawrence does not just participate in these sports, he is actually very good in each and every one of them. Through all this, he still even manages to keep it together and get outstanding grades.

Although this schedule seems super hectic, Lawrence is very confident in his abilities to do all the tasks he sets before himself. Most people would find it hard to make time for everything, but Lawrence is determined. “It just happens to fall in line. Hard work and perseverance helps me through it.”

On top of all of his sports and his classes at Butcher, Lawrence is in several after-school programs. He is in the National Honor Society, Video Game Club, Renaissance Club, Band Council, and is planning on joining SADD. Seems like a lot of work, but by now we all know that he can handle it.

When asked if he ever regrets being so involved, Lawrence is adamant. “No, I never have [regretted it]. I love bringing energy into anything I do and making friends and enjoying having fun.”
