I recently saw Interstellar and all I can say is that the movie was pretty stellar. With Adventure and new scientific ideas fueling its plot the movie set out to impress and was one of the best Sci-Fi movies I’ve seen in recent years.
The film was directed by Christopher Nolan, who was the director of blockbusters like Inception and The Dark Night trilogy. The film was also written by Christopher Nolan and his brother, Jonathan Nolan. The movie stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway who play two astronauts that explore travel through a worm hole in order to find a new planet for humanity to inhabit after disaster strikes.
“The movie really surprised me,” Tessa Catalano ’15 stated. “I thought it was going to be a long and boring movie that just dragged on but, it was quite the opposite. I was interested the entire time and I couldn’t keep me eyes of the screen,” Tessa added. I Agree.
This Sci-Fi thriller provided a very interesting take on space travel and was an attention grabbing experience. It offered some very thought- provoking theories and delivered some striking visuals.
The actual look of the movie was probably the best part. The movie was shot on 35mm film and on IMAX 70mm photography. Nolan also wanted to resist from use CGI in a lot of the film so a majority of the scenes were filmed on hand built sets or on location.
For the movie of such a large budget to be shot on actual film and not digitally is very rare for a movie today. To me, this is a film maker’s film. There was an art that went into creating this movie.
