For some students, this may be their first homecoming. For others it may be their last. Everyone has their favorite part of homecoming. “I am really looking forward to pep rally because it’s a lot of fun!” Taylor Sanders ’17 said.
For freshmen and sophomores, this is just the beginning. They’re not really sure what to expect. But they still have the confidence they will beat the upperclassman. “I think we will beat the seniors!” Taylor comments.
For juniors and seniors, they know exactly what to expect. Seniors prepare for their last homecoming and they want to make it the best. “This is the best week of school. Everyone comes together to make memories and I’m going to miss it,” Samantha Diamond ’15 said.
Even teachers and class advisers prepare for the big weekend. Floats begin to come along and this is when the class starts to compete. “I think pep rally will be the best part of homecoming this year. It’s friendly competition,” Mrs. Okroy, science teacher, remarks.
Spirit week is a huge part of the homecoming fun. Teachers and students get dressed up, to make the school more entertaining. “Last year for generation day, I dressed up like a kid and it was the best costume yet,” Mrs. Okroy says.
Homecoming is a school wide event that many students and staff love to participate in – so let’s have some fun!
