The Warren Woods Tower French classes are going to France on spring break of this year. If you are currently in French or have finished French III then you are eligible to go.
“We are traveling to increase French speaking abilities, and get a firsthand look at culture and grow as members of world culture,” Ms. Rydant WWT French teacher said.
While in France students will have a chance to go site seeing, take classes from native French speakers, and engage in cultural experiences like going to the movies, and taking a cooking class. “I’m looking forward to the cooking class and watching, my students speak French,” Ms. Rydant said.
“Either the food or the shopping,” Jade Amalio ’17 said she was most excited for.
Travelers will be getting around by train, bus, and possibly subway. They will also be sleeping in hotels.
You can sign up to go any time until the end of November and the cost will be $3,700. Currently six students are planning to attend.
For students who are unable to go this year you still have an opportunity to travel. “We’ll have more trips every other year,” Ms. Rydant said.
Some good things to bring to France are good walking shoes, a watch, and your passport.
“There are other important things but those are probably the three most important things,” Ms. Rydant stated.
Ms. Rydant has traveled to France multiple times. “Try food you have never heard of and learn how to ask for direction in the countries language,” Ms. Rydant advised.
