Prom! Prom! Prom! It is that time, to start shopping for that all things prom. A search begins for the epic dress, the well-appointed party bus, and all the little cute accessories that go along the way. For girls, their main focus is on that ONE dress, a princess ball gown, a mermaid, or a long and sleek pretty style. Whatever it takes, they will find their dress that makes them feel the most beautiful.
Everyone looks forward to prom and wants it to be memorable so they go all out, and that can call for some big wallets. The limo, attire, the corsage, dinner, the list adds up real quick. With the average income of what a teenager makes these expenses can be out of reach for some. This, however, doesn’t stop high school students from getting what they want for prom.
Shops and bridal stores already have their best selections out on their racks for high school girls to come and begin the hunt. Expenses can become out of hand when girls fall in love with their perfect dress, but when is too much too much? Where does the line get drawn before a dress becomes ridiculously pricey?
First off, the usual starting point for a dress is $150, and they increases from there. Plus, no girl wants just any standard dress, they want the big, colorful, fluffy, sparkly gown. Those types are not $150, they cost over $300 dollars.
Wow! $300 dollars! Now that is seriously over priced for a prom dress, but most girls do end up paying the price. Never should a dress be that expensive for just one night, I don’t care how beautiful it is. With money circumstances, like college tuition, the last thing my checks should go to is some pretty, sparkly fabric.
A dress that leaves a remarkable dent in your savings account is just too much. Teen girls should try and find discounted or cheap dresses. The high end places like Group USA, Windsor, or Runway Fashions are certain to contain expensive dresses. Check out bridal stores and small clothing places, they usually have less pricy prom dresses that would suit a teen paycheck.
