Every day, the announcements are filled with talks of E20/20 and testing out and college courses, with perhaps not all of us understanding what they mean. Many, if not most of us, probably do not fully get what these terms mean on their own or more importantly, what they mean for students. Well, to show that titannation.net is there for you with the info you need, here is information on the three most common forms of alternative classes: E20/20, testing out, and dual enrollment.
E20/20 is a credit recovery program, done on computers. The class offers students to make up credits for Math, Science, and English, through multiple after school sessions on the E20/20 program. If this sounds like a program that would be useful to you, talk to your counselor about the idea, and sign up if it’s decided that it’s best for you.
Another form of schooling alternatives is testing out. To test out means that you can take a test for a specific class, and by passing the test, one would be able to get all the credits that the class supplies, being able to skip it entirely. Get the forms to test out from your counselor, so that you can take said test in February. Check page 24 of your agenda for more information.
The final alternative is dual enrollment, and approach taken most commonly by upperclassmen. In this process, the student is taking an actual college course. In order to do this, put this on your tentative class selection, and talk to your counselor for more information on the process.
A special thanks to Mr. McCraken for all the information.
